Janet Maclean (She/Her), Graduate Intern Therapist
Heart Body Mind Psychological and Assessment Services
I just completed a master's program in counseling and am ready to put my learning & prior lived experiences into practice. I am honoured to be working as a graduate intern therapist with Heart Body Mind Psychological & Assessment Services supervised by Meg Hasek-Watt, R. Psych.
In a collaborative effort with my colleague, JoAnn, we are offering a no-cost, barrier-free therapy program, Caring for Caregivers. We have both witnessed personal sacrifices, relationship strains, overwhelming feelings, fatigue, and challenges navigating healthcare systems experienced by unpaid caregivers. We are here to support your journey caring for your loved one, child, aging parent, or other family member by promoting a safe space for caregivers to share, unwind, and restore.
I am compassionate, genuine, and non-judgmental. I want to hear your story and understand who you are. I believe people are happiest when their life aligns with their values and beliefs. At times, the grind of our busy lives can unknowingly create distance between us and our values, which takes a toll on our minds and bodies. Counseling will help build self-awareness and reflection so you can make changes and learn skills to live life how you want. I use an integrative approach from different therapy models and techniques. I am here for you, and my approach is individualized and flexible to meet your unique needs, preferences, and characteristics. It would be an honour to support and witness your life journey.
I offer virtual and in person sessions through our Barrier-Free, No Cost Therapy programs and am the co-founder along with my colleague, JoAnn Reynolds, of the Caring for the Caregivers No Cost therapy program for anyone who is a Caregiver.
