Full Comprehensive Psychoeducational Assessment & Multidisciplinary Assessments Offered!

(may also be referred to as a Educational Assessment or Ed Psych Assessment)

PsychoEducational assessments/Educational Psychological (aka PsychEd or Ed Psych) Assessments help us to identify areas of strengths and weakness for a person in their learning. These assessments help us to answer questions about academic, emotional, cognitive, social, and behavioural functioning.

 Children, teens, and adults can benefit from these assessments, and they are often used to help post-secondary students determine accommodations and recommendations for funded learning supports.

We are also very pleased to announce a new partnership with Speech Matters SLP to provide Multidisciplinary PsychoEducational Assessments - this includes Psychology, Speech Language Pathology, and Occupational Therapy - to provide a fully comprehensive PsychoEducational Assessment and report to provide for your child’s educational and health care teams!

  • We would recommend a Psychoeducational Assessment if there is a concern of the following:

    -Learning Disorders (e.g. dyslexia, dyscalculia)
    -ADHD
    -Autism
    -Intellectual Disabilities
    -Executive Functioning Deficits
    -Anxiety/Depression
    -Memory and Learning Deficits and Impairments
    -Fine and Gross Motor Impairments
    -And Behavioural Challenges

    We also recommend a Multidisciplinary (Psychology, Speech Language Pathology & Occupational Therapy) PsychoEducational Assessment if you are also requiring Speech Language and/or Occupational Therapy supports e.g. at school . This Multidisciplinary offer allows a more streamlined process across disciplines to provide you with comprehensive results and report to provide to healthcare and educational providers.

  • In our Full Comprehensive Assessments, our intake may indicate that a Trauma Screen and/or Personality Screen may be needed too!

    A Psychoeducational Assessment/Educational Psychological Assessment will include:

    - A Complimentary Assessment Consultation to best determine which Assessment tests and components are required

    - 1-2 hour Clinical Interview including academic, medical and developmental history (this may also include additional interviews with parents/guardians and teachers if applicable)

    - Review of Academic history (this may include reviewing report cards, prior assessments, other documentation provided)

    - 4-5 hours of Assessment testing – this includes completion of different assessment measures in pen and paper and on the computer

    - If applicable, questionnaires/measures completed by additional sources (e.g. teachers, parent/guardian for child assessments)

    - 1 hour Results Meeting to review the findings and recommendations of the assessment

    - Full Comprehensive Report provided in PDF copy

    Our Multidisciplinary PsychoEducational Assessments will include the above, as well as assessment intake interview and testing components with both a Speech Language Pathologist and an Occupational Therapist.

    We collaborate with the team at Speech Matters SLP so that your appointments will occur close together and we provide you with a compassionate, seamless process across disciplines.

  • $2500- $3500 for PsychoEducational Assessments (Psych only)

    $4500 for Multidisciplinary PsychoEducational Assessments with Speech Language Pathology, Occupational Therapy, and Psychology)

    Are you a post-secondary Student? The Canada Student Grant for Services and Equipment - Students with Disabilities (CSG-DSE) may cover 100% of the cost to a maximum of $3,500 per loan year. Students not eligible for CSG-DSE may be eligible for reimbursement under the Alberta Grant for Students with Disabilities (GFD) to a maximum of $3,000. Contact us today to learn more about what additional funding is available if you qualify for the CSG-DSE and CSG-GFD.

    As well, many insurance benefits plans will cover full or partial assessment fees - contact your Benefits provider to inquire what coverage you may have through your benefits.

ADHD Assessment

With our Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) Assessments, we provide thorough, comprehensive ADHD assessments for children, teens, and adults.  ADHD Assessments assist us in providing you with personalized and specific recommendations/strategies to promote your self-efficacy, agency, and confidence to manage with ADHD at home, at work, and at school (as applicable).

  • An ADHD Assessment will include:

    - A Complimentary Assessment Consultation to best determine which Assessment tests and components are required

    - 1 hour Clinical Interview including academic, medical and developmental history (this may also include additional interviews with parents/guardians and teachers if applicable)

    - Review of Academic history (this may include reviewing report cards, prior assessments, other documentation provided) - as applicable

    - 1.5-2 hours of Assessment testing – this includes completion of different assessment measures in pen and paper and on the computer and includes cognitive and emotional measures

    - If applicable, questionnaires/measures completed by additional sources (e.g. teachers, parent/guardian for child assessments)

    - 1 hour Results Meeting to review the findings and recommendations of the assessment

Autism Assessment (ADOS-2)

With our Autism Assessments, two of our clinicians, Grace and Alex, are trained in the ADOS-2 for children and adults.  One of our main tools of Assessment for Autism is the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule-Second Edition (ADOS-2) is a standardized assessment tool that helps providers diagnose Autism in children and adults. The ADOS-2 involves a semi-structured play or interview session determined by the age and communication level of the individual.

Our Autism assessments include additional standardized, evidence-based tools of observation and measurement to provide a comprehensive assessment.

We are also very pleased to announce a new partnership with Speech Matters SLP to provide Multidisciplinary Autism Assessments - this includes Psychology, Speech Language Pathology, and Occupational Therapy - to provide a fully comprehensive Autism Assessment and report to provide for your child’s educational and health care teams!

    ** each assessment can vary depending on what each client needs and how in-depth an assessment is required. The details of your assessment will be discussed (e.g. recommended measures, length of time, and costs during your initial consultation). Giftedness-Assessment-Children-Calgary

School Admissions/ Giftedness Assessments

Giftedness refers to an intellectual ability (FSIQ) or General Ability Index (GAI) in the range of 130 (+/-5). This testing is utilized when determining whether a student would be accepted into ‘Gifted’ educational programs and/or Charter Schools like Westmount Charter School.

Please be sure to check your academic program requirements to determine which assessments are required (e.g. Giftedness and/or only Standardized IQ tests). Depending on your academic institution’s requirements, we will be able to determine which Assessment measures will be used.

  • A Giftedness and/or School Admissions IQ testing will include:

    - 1 hour Parent/Guardian Interview to review academic, medical, developmental, socio-emotional, and behavioural function of your child

    - 2-4 hours of Assessment testing

    - 1 hour Results Meeting to review the findings and recommendations of the assessment

    - Full detailed Report provided in PDF copy.

  • $1200* For certain Charter Schools, only 1 measure is required e.g. Westmount) but rate will depend on what the admissions of each school may require.
