James Taylor (He/Him), Graduate Intern Therapist
Heart Body Mind Psychological and Assessment Services
As a graduate intern therapist, I bring both personal experience and professional training to my practice, offering a deep understanding of the challenges that life can present. Before entering the field of psychology, my life journey took me through a variety of environments, including years spent working in the trades. I have firsthand experience in construction, pipelining, pipefitting, and as a commercial truck driver, which has given me a strong appreciation for the demands and pressures faced by those working in physically and mentally taxing fields.
Earlier in life, I navigated difficult environments and faced the realities of financial struggles and a lack of support, which exposed me to challenges such as addiction, and many other hardships. Through determination and reflection, I successfully overcame those struggles, transforming my life and pursuing higher education. I went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in psychology and am now nearing the completion of my graduate studies in the field.
My background allows me to connect with individuals from all walks of life, particularly those dealing with high-pressure work environments, addiction recovery, or significant life transitions. I’m passionate about creating a non-judgmental, supportive space for clients to explore their personal challenges and work toward meaningful growth and healing. With a strong foundation in evidence-based therapeutic approaches, I aim to help my clients better understand their experiences and find constructive ways to move forward.
