Forest Therapy Guided Walk, St patrick’s island

What is Forest Bathing? Shirin-Yoku, which is the Japanese practice of Forest Bathing, means to bath in the atmosphere of the forest. It refers to the practice of spending time in nature for the purpose of health, wellness and happiness. It is the practice of connection with the natural world and with each other. Forest Bathing is a slow-paced/ gentle walk or wander in nature.

Science has also shown the health benefits of spending time in nature. People who spend time in the forest experience a decrease in stress levels, improve outlook, focus, and energy, as well as many other health benefits.

***Please note this walk is meant to be slow in pace. Please dress warmer than you might expect. Do not expect to engage in any physical activity during walk.

Audience: Anyone Aged 15 years of Age or Older (No pets).

Registration Booking and Cost: Booking can be done directly through Eventbrite or through email transfer. Contact me directly for more details. Cost is  $ 35.00 (plus fees)

Cancellation and Refund Policy: Please note there is a NO REFUND policy. A refund will be only be issued to participants if the workshop is cancelled by the workshop coordinator due to insufficient enrollment, extreme weather conditions, or Covid-19 restrictions. Workshops may be cancelled prior to the start date and participants will be notified via email and/or phone, and a full refund will be processed.

Withdrawal from workshops for medical reasons must be accompanied by a doctor's medical note.

Guide Biography: Andre Benoit, is a locally based Registered Psychologist and certified Nature and Forest Therapy Guide through the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy Guides (ANFT). He blends traditionally psychotherapy techniques for treating anxiety, depression and trauma with intuitive, sensory, land-based healing practices.

Where to Meet: Meet near the washrooms near the main entrance of St. Patrick's Island. Please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to scheduled walk time as walks will commence at planned starting time. If you have any questions, please phone me prior.
